Presented by Kiah Kiean (Penang, Malaysia)
Location: Cercle Artístic de Sant Lluc
Things we find in nature can become useful and powerful sketching tools. In this demo, I will show the participants how to make their own sketching tools from dry twigs and how to use them with Chinese ink as medium. I will also talk about the oriental concept of leaving “blank” or “empty space” in the sketches to create breathing room in the composition.
The demo will include:
1. Introduction
3. Demo on how to make your own dry twig sketching tools
2. Demo of the different type of line works which can be achieved
4. On site sketching with participants (You may bring your own dry twigs, a pen knife, a small container of Chinese ink, a piece of gauze fabric and watercolor paper.)
