Meet the Instructor: Barry Jackson (London, UK)

Barry Jackson
London, UK

After graduating from the Royal College of Art a long time ago, Barry Jackson worked in publishing as a graphic designer and illustrator in the 1970s, but gradually became more involved in teaching. He taught design at several major UK universities and colleges, before his interest in design was overtaken by an interest in how people learn, leading eventually to a full-time role in the strategic development of learning and teaching in UK Higher Education. Every now and again he would find time to draw or try to make paintings. Since retiring from his full-time post as a university Pro Vice-chancellor he has found a lot more time to learn to draw, make occasional paintings, and develop his fine-art printmaking. He has been a London correspondent for USK since the blog’s beginning and is one of the founders of USk London.
