Sketching in Seattle

Hello, sketchers! I can’t wait to meet you all in Barcelona! I feel like I’ve already “met” some of you through your blogs that I keep up with regularly, and it will be a thrill to meet you in person.
I have been sketching in Seattle, Washington, USA, for about a year and a half, and I post sketches on my blog, Fueled by Clouds and Coffee, on the Seattle Urban Sketchers blog and on Flickr. Like Liz said, I don’t want to sketch only the well-known touristy icons, but I wanted to show something that might be familiar, as well as something less familiar. So first here’s a sketch of the Seattle skyline with its iconic Space Needle on the horizon and Mt. Rainier in the background.

And here’s a less well-known icon, “The Fremont Troll,” who lives under a busy highway bridge (he's clutching a VW Bug that he snatched off the bridge!).

I’m counting the days until the symposium! Until then, happy sketching!

  1. HI Tina - looking forward to meeting you in BCN!!! (that is assuming we didn't meet in 2010... previous symposiums are always a bit of a blur!
I missed the troll when I was in Seattle - will have to go back!
